Google Food Catering plays a unique role as one of the products and services within the overall Google Food program. However, the overall experience for catering is considered ‘fine,’ by Googlers and doesn’t match the experience found in the campus cafés. Google Food needed to better articulate the value the catering program brings to Googlers’ lives as well as develop the ideal experience across key signature touchpoints.
I led a cross-functional team of strategist, designers, writers and UX designers to develop the new experience for Google’s catering offering. Internal interviews, research, inspirational audits and mapping the current audience journey provided insight into the existing experience and the needs of meeting planners and attendees. Key principles were then applied to prototype designs that would guide team members to bring the experience to life. A playbook was also created to further guide team members to create a unique experience only Google Food could deliver.
